59 Metro stations serve Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland and North and South Tyneside. Stations are located at the heart of both Newcastle and Sunderland city centres with stops in between. Convenient, fast, frequent and easy to use the service runs from early morning to late at night.
The metro system is fast, convenient and reasonably priced, the Day or Evening saver ticket gives unlimited travel on metro, ferry and rail.

Bus and coach services in the Newcastle area are mainly provided by Arriva, Go North East, Stagecoach Newcastle and National Express. You can find timetables and fare informatin here.

Train services are provided by National Rail, Virgin Trains, Arriva Trains Northern and GNER. The principal station is Central Station on Neville Street, where you will find links to the Metro and buses.

Newcastle is served by Newcastle Airport, providing connections to over 80 destinations world-wide. It is about 7 miles from Newcastle, with connections by metro, rail, bus or taxi. It's often easier and cheaper to travel by air rather than by road or rail if visiting from the South or Scotland. Newcastle Airport website is HERE.
If getting to Newcastle by road arrive via the
M1/A1 from the South or Midlands if approaching from the East or use the M6 then A66 if approaching from the West or North-West.

Every 30 minutes the ferry service across the Tyne operates between North and South Shields ferry terminals. The crossing takes 7 minutes.
